Spacious and marked trailer prep area with well spaced shaded parking.
4 lane launch ramp. Wide and not much debris, most times.
Open 24 hours. Park at your own risk. Do not leave car/trailer past dark, unsafe.
Parking area has safety issues with neighboring homeless population across street.
Summertime water quality is poor. Lime green from the port to Weber Point channel head. Clears up as you head west.
Cross the walkbridge to see the beautiful windmill art.
Bathrooms available. Most of the time, locked.

The Louis Park Boat Launch opens one hour before sunrise and closes one hour after sunset each day.
The Smith Canal Gate may close periodically due to high tides and/or maintenance activities. Boats will not be able to exit or return to Louis Park Boat Launch during Gate closures. Be prepared by registering for text alerts of all closures! Text the word "gate" to 1-833-573-6395 to register for Smith Canal Gate closure notifications. Tips:
Parking area is small and tight with turnabout at end. Parking is at your own risk. Watch for kids. Busy picnic activity on summer weekends.
No restrooms or drinking water. Porta-potty sometimes available.
One short dock and standby dock toward parking area.
LAUNCH APPROACH: Drive toward parking area, make the last left turn after the small building. Prep near the rock wall till ramp is clear. Make a left and go all the way up then reverse into launch lane.
TAKE-OUT: Pull straight out and wipe down area near single handicapped parking. If busy, pull all the way out of area and drive to shaded parking near Louis Park softball diamonds. Restrooms in Louis Park area.
Many report ramp area always has debris (hyacinth, reeds/Tules) since wind blows it all in.
Launch Ramp may close if Smith Canal flood gate is closed. Use Morelli Park Launch Ramp downtown Stockton or Buckley Cove Launch Ramp for fee. Go north on I-5 and exit: March Lane.
